Which 99 percent?

As it’s a purportedly leaderless movement, it’s hard to say exactly who Occupy Wall Street is.

But now the organizers are struggling with the challenge of saying who they are not.

They are not OccupyParty.org – though that self-described grassroots movement liberally uses the “99%” language and photos of smiling protestors – but with an embarrassingly large number of American flags.

Nor are they @Occupywaii on Twitter – a troll account that Twitter has shut down.

Nor are they “Anonymous” – an even less-defined group. The involvement of this entity has likely always been exaggerated. And now someone has used the moniker to post their own “Official Demands” of Occupy Wall Street.

They might not even be #occupywallstreet anymore. Though that hashtag has also become the name, it has lots of characters. Watch for more tweets with the tag #OWS, instead.

But don’t confuse it with OWS.org. That’s the Open Window School – for gifted students in Bellevue, Washington.

Got that?
